Murray Hill Institute is proud to support Rosedale Achievement Center, located in the Bronx, New York City. Rosedale offers academic tutoring and leadership programs for girls 9-18. All of Rosedale's programs instill a sense of personal worth by developing students’ talents, character, and spirit of service, and by strengthening academic skills and work habits through individualized attention. The staff and volunteers collaborate with parents and families to prepare students so they can complete their education and make a positive contribution to their families and community. Rosedale is a small non-profit that depends heavily on volunteers. Some serve as tutors, mentors, activity leaders, or guest speakers. Others help with development and fund-raising. Volunteers help provide students with individual attention in a nurturing environment through either One-on-One tutoring or Standardized Test Prep. Some are invited to be speakers in the leadership clubs and summer programs.
We also invite volunteers to serve as a liaison between their workplace and Rosedale to set up summer internships for students enrolled in the Summer Job Training Program.
If you are interested in being a Rosedale volunteer, please contact Alice Trimmer: firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange for an interview with a Rosedale staff person. Rosedale provides orientation sessions for all volunteers.
Rosedale Center is located in the Parkchester area of the Bronx and is a short walk from the number 6 train. Prospective volunteers are welcome to visit. If you are interested in being a Rosedale volunteer, or would like to visit Rosedale to see the programs in action, please contact Alice Trimmer: email@example.com.
